Biography Brian Brennan is an award-winning and best-selling Alberta author who specializes in books about the colourful personalities and the social history of Western Canada. Born in Dublin, Ireland, he immigrated to Canada in 1966 and has lived in Calgary since 1974. He spent twenty-five years as a staff writer at the Calgary Herald, writing columns and feature stories, before leaving to devote his time to writing books, giving radio talks, and playing the piano. He has made frequent appearances as a guest storyteller on CBC Radio's regional program, Daybreak Alberta, and he regularly plays keyboards at weddings, cocktail parties and cabarets.
